New coronavirus case in UK
The WHO informed that a new confirmed case of infection with the novel coronavirus (NCoV) has been reported in the United Kingdom. This is the third case confirmed in the country this month and belongs to the same family cluster as two other cases occurred this month. The first of these cases had a history of travel to Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and was recovered on 26 January. Laboratory investigations on this first case have revealed both an influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 infection and a confirmed NCoV infection. The other two cases, including the last one, did not travel outside the UK recently but the WHO reported that no sustained person-to-person transmission has been identified. The Health Protection Agency (HPA) is following up on all close contacts who may have been exposed to the recently confirmed cases. Worldwide, 12 confirmed cases of human infection with NCoV, including five deaths, have been reported by WHO.
